The team from CIJR came to convene the Government Sphere track in the international conference of Youth with a Mission, last September 2017. At YWAM Together 2016, Peter Irwin-Clark and Rosana Escobar co-convened different with Christians who are influential and relevant in the sphere of government throughout the world. The international speakers panel included representatives from the United Kingdom, United States of America, Kyrgyzstan, Argentina, the Philippines, South Africa, and Australia.
From the fall of 2015, Rosana Escobar, representing the CIJR, visited the Jungle Camp in Calais several times before it was demolished early in 2016. It was not only to bring relief goods to the migrants there but also to speak with them about their realities and finding out how we can also help them.
In July 2016, CIJR went to Nigeria to investigate the situation surrounding the Christians in Jos. Rosana Escobar, together with an international and local team, gathered reports images and video footage to bring to light what has been happening in the West African nation. Below is their report which was presented at the Geneva Peace Week Side Event: Healing the Wounds of War.
In September 2015, a representative from CIJR visited Lebanon with a few YWAMers to attend the Faith in Conflict Gathering in Lebanon, which was organised by the YWAM Rostrevor team in partnership with the International Forgiveness Institute Lebanon. The weeklong gathering involved delving into the history of conflict in the area and the current efforts for peace amid the escalating refugee crisis from Syria.
In November 2017, the Centre for International Justice and Reconciliation hosted a Geneva Peace Week Side Event at the Palais des Nations focusing on the theme of reconciliation and forgiveness in areas of conflict. We also presented our efforts to raise awareness on the issue of religious persecution and religious conflicts in Nigeria, the Philippines, Northern Ireland,etc. Below are videos to recap our efforts during this week.
